It’s been a busy time for PFR recently, as our team have attended not one, but two industry exhibitions in the past few months.
Back in May, our team jetted off across the pond to Chicago where we visited the NRA, National Restaurant Association, which took place at McCormick Place between May 18th – 21st.
NRA is the business association for the restaurant industry, which is made up of more than a million restaurant and foodservice outlets. It allows restaurant operators, foodservice equipment manufacturers and many other industry professionals within the restaurant sector to meet and discover the latest innovations within the industry.
Several of our US partner companies exhibited at the show, including Barfly, who specialise in cocktail and mixology equipment and Mercer Culinary, one of the biggest manufacturers of chef’s knives and utensils in the US.
Many of our partner companies at NRA also used this opportunity to launch some of their latest products such as American Metalcraft, who launched their new tiered buffet stands, rubberized stands and melamine taco holders, and Barfly who launched their new vintage bar equipment collection.
As well as this, Baselite also announced that they are now stocking the Track Mount which is now available in the UK, and Front Of The House also revealed their new beverage tub and the new disposable taco holder, which is also recyclable.
Mealplak and Revol also shared a stand at NRA, where Revol highlighted their new Swell and Pekoe collections and Mealplak showed off some of its new printed finishes, which are available with their products.
Finally, Puracycle also announced its UK launch, due to major US chains now testing the products after seeing potential.
Each year, NRA focus on several themes and this year, the themes which were highlighted included the issue of how catering equipment is handling the rise of Deliveroo and Uber Eats, allergen handling and the huge increase in plant-based food on offer.
We had a fantastic time at the show and after a busy few days over in the states, our team travelled back to the UK where we began preparing for our visit to the Commercial Kitchen Show, which took place on June 4th and 5th at the NEC, Birmingham.
The Commercial Kitchen Show takes place every year and invites buyers involved in equipping and running commercial kitchens to learn more about the industry with its interactive seminars, and features some of the best catering equipment currently available on the market.
At the show, PFR represented two of our partners who were exhibiting; Precision Refrigeration who also launched their new meat ageing cabinet and Unox, who launched the new range of ChefTop MIND Maps at the show.
The PFR team really enjoy attending industry exhibitions as they provide the ideal platform for attendees to learn about the latest equipment and technologies within the commercial catering industry, as well as the different services offered by exhibitors.
We’ve enjoyed being out and about lately attending these trade shows and we are pleased to be attending more exhibitions in the near future, so keep an eye out for more information on this coming soon.
